When You’re Not Motivated
Everyone has those days when you just can’t get yourself to do anything on your to-do list. For me lack of motivation typically comes right in the middle of my final assignments in school (so like right about now). Instead of dwelling on the fact you aren’t going to finish those tasks, I wanted to share my tips to help when you’re not motivated.
MAKE A ROUTINE
I’ve been really trying to make morning and night routines for myself; I’ve been having restless nights so I knew it was time to make routines and commit to it. Waking up at the same time everyday and going to bed at the same time really helps me plan out my day. I know when I’m about to get the afternoon slump so I’m able to plan around that.
DRINK LEMON WATER
I don’t know what it is about lemon water but whenever I drink it I feel more productive; and my mindset is better.
Sometimes if you aren’t motivated it’s a sign that you just need a break. Schedule yourself an afternoon to do whatever you want. When you schedule yourself a break you won’t feel guilty for taking one and it’ll ensure you won’t go over time and not get any work done.
When you’re really in a slump, go for a walk. The fresh air will help clear your head. If you can’t get outside or if you really aren’t motivated to go for a walk, open your window.
SURROUND YOURSELF WITH INSPIRATION
Sometimes you just need some new inspiration in your life. When I need inspiration I check out Pinterest or I read a book. Pinterest is great for some inspirational quotes or for anything else in your life.
This is actually one of my favourite books to read when I need a little inspiration. You literally need to read a couple of pages of this book and you’ll feel like you can take on the world.
