Top Beauty Products of 2016

It’s that time of year again! I did my top 5 products of 2015 last year, and this year I found a bunch of new products that I wanted to share with you. If you’ve been following along with me for a while, then some of these products are pretty familiar (sorry); but here’s my top beauty products of 2016.

BETTER THAN SEX MASCARA – TOO FACED

It’s expensive for a mascara that will only last you a few months, but it’s totally worth it. Well I probably won’t buy it more than 2 times a year, but it’s worth those 2 times. This mascara gave me the best results for volume and length. I got a sample size of it and when it was done I had to buy the full size.

NAKED FOUNDATION – UBRAN DECAY

This is the only foundation I’ve bought more than once; I think I’ve bought it 3 times? It’s perfect all year around. It has a lighter coverage so you can wear it during the summer, and you can build it up without it looking cakey. It’s definitely more expensive than I would prefer, but my skin doesn’t break out and it doesn’t clog my pores so it’s totally worth it for me.

GIMME BROW VOLUMIZING FIBER GEL – BENEFIT

I’ve tried brow gels before because I had always liked the idea of just putting the product on and not needing to do anything else. Although the past products I’ve tried left my eyebrows crunchy / looking like I took some hair gel to slick them down. So I was hesitant getting this, but I actually got a free sample of it so if I hated it there wouldn’t be any damage done.

My sample size just ran out and I’m definitely purchasing a full size! I was really impressed with the product, it does volumize your brows ( a little) and it doesn’t look crunchy.

CHOCOLATE SOLIEL MATTE BRONZER – TOO FACED

I honestly don’t think I’ve used any other bronzer this year. This truly is a great bronzer! It smells amazing, and it’s easily bendable. I just have a sample size of it and it’s lasted me so long.

HIGHLIGHTER – TARTE

2016 was the year of finally getting into contouring. I already had some favourite bronzers but I wanted to get into highlighting. I found this highlighter that I got in a limited edition Tarte box forever ago. It’s a little old but considering I had barely touched it over the years I thought it was fine. As you can see I actually hit pan in less than a year of using this product. Unfortunately you can’t get this anymore but Anastasia Beverly Hills’ Glow Kit (the pink one) has basically the same shade. Now I keep this one for when I’m travelling.

BIRTHDAY SUIT BLUSH – COLOURPOP

I told you, 2016 was when I really went all out for my face products. Although I picked this up near the middle of the year (and I didn’t really use it until a month or so ago) it’s a beautiful shade / product. Colourpop makes the best formula and this shade is perfect to add a little bit of colour back into your cheeks.

VOLUMINOUS LIQUID EYELINER – L’OREAL

I was in Shoppers looking for a new liquid eyeliner with my friend Steffany when she told me she had just read an article about the best drugstore eyeliners (very convenient). I said I wanted one that would be good for making wings, and the article suggested this one from L’Oreal. I bought it and I haven’t regretted it since. It’s a little weird getting used to the odd shape of the eyeliner, but I honestly kinda prefer it now. I can create sharp thin lines, and easily build it up. It won’t transfer for several hours; I think the only time I noticed it transferring to my upper lids was on New Year’s eve.
