Smashbox CC Cream First Impressions

Happy Monday my beautiful friends. Today I’m chatting about the Smashbox CC cream. I purchased the product about a week ago, and honestly I haven’t worn it too much. Not because I don’t like it, but I just haven’t been wearing makeup. Which is why I was on the hunt for a product like this. My usual foundation, Urban Decay’s Naked, was on it’s last legs and I was either going to fork over the $50 for a replacement or try out a new product for the same price.

Smashbox CC cream - light weight, very buildable

I originally was on the hunt for a tinted moisturizer or a BB cream, but Kaitlyn (who works at Shoppers) suggested I should get a CC cream because of my oily skin. A nice bonus: their lightest shade actually works for my very pale skin. It doesn’t turn yellow over the day and it’s protecting my skin with SPF.

I’m still trying to figure out how to apply the CC cream because I was originally putting the product onto my face with my fingers and then using a brush to blend it in. But it seemed really streaky and took forever to blend out perfectly. I actually went over my entire face with my beauty blender in the very end. Using my fingers to blend it out messily on my face first and then using a stippling brush might be my best bet.

Once it was all blended out, wow, it looked amazing. I did a Spring Makeup look with this CC Cream, so check it out if you want to see how it looks. Even Kaitlyn thought my skin looked great, she assumed I was wearing a medium to heavy coverage foundation. The CC cream is easily buildable, and looks even better with face primer on underneath.

It lasts all day (i.e. 9am to 9pm), with only 1 touch up with powder. I really recommend this product for everyone.

Have you tried this product? What are your thoughts?
