OOTD; Stained Blue

We had a day off and my friends and I decided to go shopping at Prinetemps (a huge department store) we went all the way to the top floor and worked our way down. To our surprise there was a huge stained glass window around a pretty fancy restaurant. My outfit is insipred by this window.      Blue was the main colour in the window, so I went with my long blue maxi…

OOTD; Dressing like a Local

I’m sure by the title you can probably guess that my outfit today is inspired by the fashion trends I’ve seen around town. One trend that I have really noticed is the denim on denim. I didn’t bring dark enough jeans to try this look out, so I went for more of a traditional Parisian look.  I honestly saw this look by LOTS of ladies out walking around. Cropped jeans, converse, red lip, white tee,…

OOTD; Monet’s Contrast

Today I travelled outside of Paris to see Claude Monet’s house and gardens. It’s beautiful, I especially love his Japanese inspired garden where the majority of his paintings are inspired. After the Japanese garden we went to more of a traditional garden with flowers. So many colourful flowers! It had just rained so the pedals still had the perfect picture drips on them.   My outfit is inspired by the colourful flowers of his traditional…

OOTD; The Green Garden

I went the Palace of Versailles today. So pretty. I also went to see Marie’s apartment, and on the way to her place you walk through the gardens. I couldn’t do another Marie Antoinette look again so I was looked for something else that could inspire me. It took me a awhile but I decided to use the obvious one: the garden.  This outfit is very simple, but still very Parisian fashion.      …

OOTD; Fashion Inspires

I was so lucky to visit a fashion gallery at the Musee Galliera in Paris today. It was one floor with a bunch of photographs of models, magazine covers, and fashion shoots. It was so amazing.   My outfit was simple, and a little different from what I would typically wear. The base of my outfit is the top and the saying on it. Fashion inspires others.        I went with little to…

OOTD; Pink Macaroons

One of the first things I had to do when I got to Paris was to try macaroons. After a few days of looking around we found this cute bakery called Paul (which actually is pretty popular in Paris) and tried their macaroons. They were amazing! But we did want to try Laudree. Finally we got the time to buy them and hands down they are worth their price! They are so good.  …

OOTD; Picasso Blue

I didn’t actually get to go into the Picasso museum because it’s closed until June for renovations. Though we did have someone explain and show us some of his paintings. If you are unfamiliar with Picasso, he did go through a blue period when all his paintings used a blue palette. *Painting to the left is his famous self portrait*     I happened to have this blue maxi dress, and thought this would…

OOTD; Shakespeare in the 21st Century

My favourite part of this day by far was visiting Shakespeare and Company. The store is located in the Latin Quarter on the Left Bank of Paris. The stores surrounded by it and the cobble stone outside of the store honestly ties the visitor in.     I, of course, wanted to do an outfit inspired by the book store. There is  a lot of green and gold in and on the outside of…

OOTD; Des fleurs du Luxembourg

(Title: The Flowers of Luxembourg) I may or may not be used as an extra in a tv show/movie. When I went to visit the Luxembourg Garden there is a film set up and we got to sit in the background by a large fountain. Pretty exciting. Unforentatly the day was rainy and there was a little bit of a thunderstorm so I didn’t stay too long. I mostly hung out by the large circle…

OOTD; Marie in the 21st Century

Today I got the chance to visit the prison which Marie Antoinette was held prisoner until her death. It was a quick little tour but was very interesting. There were three different types of cells available to the prisoners: 1. just hay on the ground 2. a bed and roomate 3. bed, private room and desk. Then there was Marie’ss room, which had a large bed, a desk, and painted walls, with carpet.  …
